Join the 40-member, Mechanicsburg-based community choir, The Cumberland Singers, for Welcome – a program with the themes of welcoming Christmas, welcoming each other, and especially welcoming the stranger.
Enjoy and be inspired by a lessons-and-carols style program, featuring carols in English and Spanish, gospel music, hymns, and beautiful modern pieces by Sweet Honey in the Rock and The Indigo Girls. Concerts are free to the public; a free-will offering is taken at intermission. Music lovers of all ages are welcome to attend the concerts.
The Cumberland Singers are directed by Alissa Plant and accompanied by Harold Plant. The choir is grateful to have the support of The Pennsylvania Partners for the Arts. For more information about the choir, visit cumberlandsingers.org.
The Cumberland Singers have been a vital presence in the West Shore area since 1976, performing a variety of music, including choral, pops, classical, folk, and jazz. The choir is non-auditioned, and strives to be open and welcoming to all. New members are welcome to join each September and January.
