Plan to visit the 1815 Parish House which has been the home of the Historical Society for 50 Years. The Parish House has remained a community treasure by serving as a museum, community meeting site, and sanctuary. Although the building retains the charm of its 1855 renovations, it serves the Society well in 2021.
o Attend the Pew Dedication Ceremony at 2:00 pm in the Sanctuary hosted by Reverend Curtis Weber and Jean Seibert. Memorials Pews for some of the Historical Society’s most treasured volunteers are dedicated.
o Listen to the Recital by Dan Stokes, organist at the Zion Lutheran Church who plays the organ from the former Hanover Street Methodist Church.
o Tour the restored Meeting Room and Exhibit Hall now that renovations have been completed.
o Study Chad Lister’s Educational History in Hummelstown which was in storage for over a year during renovations.
o View “refreshed” displays of the Society’s Collection of Artifacts on the second and third floors.
o Learn about the Hartwell Family Native American Artifact Collection based on the new research by Bryce Foster.
o Visit the Hummel Cemetery with its gravesites of the Hummel family and 27 Revolutionary Soldiers.
The Hummelstown Anthology will be on sale for the first time. The new publication was printed by Picture Perfect Producti0ns. The cost is $40.
