A Holocaust Remembrance Event is being held at 7 pm on Thursday, Jan 23, 2020 at Red Land High School. "Memories of a Child Survivor of the Holocaust" is hosted by the West Shore School District and sponsored by the James A. Danner VFW Post 537 in Etters. The event is free and open to the public.
Dr. Inge Auerbacher, a survivor of the Holocaust, is the guest speaker. Dr. Auerbacher experienced KRISTALLNACHT (the Night of Broken Glass) as a 3 year old child. She was imprisoned from 1942 -1945 in the TEREZIN concentration camp in Czechoslovakia. Inge and her parents survived these terrible years. At least 13 immediate members of her family were killed, as well as many more distant relatives. Inge is reportedly the only child survivor from the State of Wuerttemberg who was deported from Stuttgart, Germany to the concentration camps.
