A free birding workshop is offered from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, June 1, 2019, at Caledonia State Park. The workshop will help participants ages 6 and older to identify birds. Conococheague Audubon members will lead small groups on bird walks through the park. “Birding buddies” will help participants learn how to properly use binoculars and to recognize resident and migrant birds. A scavenger hunt for children follows the bird walks. Children also can participate in Birding Bingo and the Kid’s Corner. Audubon invites families, scouts, teachers and anyone with an interest in learning to identify birds. Bring binoculars and a field guide if you have them. Some binoculars will be available for use. Wear walking shoes and dress comfortably for the outdoors. The workshop will be held rain or shine. Meet at the first parking lot beyond the state park visitors’ center, 101 Pine Grove Road (Pa. 233), Fayetteville, at 7:45 a.m. To pre-register, contact Dave Cooney at (717) 264-2116 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
